Social networking site Facebook has appointed a translator to understand the objectionable posts written in Bangla, state minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim said on Sunday.
She disclosed the information while talking to reporters at the secretariat.
The junior minister said Facebook authorities confirmed about the recruitment of a translator through a letter two days ago.
“However, we’ll request the Facebook authorities to install a full admin panel in Bangladesh,” she added.
Earlier, the posts and telecommunications ministry requested the FB authorities to take proper steps to detect the objectionable posts on the social media site.
Tarana is scheduled to fly to Singapore on Tuesday with a view to participating in a regional meeting with the Facebook authorities.
The government blocked several social media sites, including Facebook, for few days fearing the degradation of law and order situation.
