Experts have asked the newly recruited bankers to gain professional skills through foundation training as it is vital for attaining success in the banking sector for overall socio-economic development of the region.
Besides, they urged them to make their banking activities free from corruption and monopoly so that the clients could derive total benefits of the banking services.
They were addressing the inaugural session of a six-week foundation training course for 40 newly appointed senior officers, financial analysts, assistant programmers and maintenance engineers of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) at its training institute on Sunday.
RAKUB chairman Prof Shah Nowaz Ali addressed the session as chief guest while general manager (administration) Abdul Latif spoke as special guest with principal of the institute Mozammel Haque in the chair.
Prof Shah Nowaz Ali said as the bank is a financial institution so maintaining its financial discipline is very important. The probationary officers should take the responsibility of upholding the discipline at any means.
He highlighted the importance of the bank in agricultural development of the northwest Bangladesh and asked the newly recruits to apply the knowledge to be acquired from the training properly in the professional field for boosting agricultural production in the region.
As the largest development partner in the agricultural sector of the northwest Bangladesh, RAKUB plays a vital role to earn economic emancipation and free the nation from poverty and hunger through boosting credit-flow to the potential agricultural fields, Prof Ali added.
In this regard, he asked them to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to brighten the image of the bank.
Main objective of the course is to enhance professional competence of the fresh officers through disseminating ideas about operation, administration and other related matters of interests of the bank.
