The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnesses fall on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The DSE key index, DSEX slightly dropped 1.24 points or 0.03 percent to close at 4674.83 on the day. Of the 319 issues traded, 145 gained, 136 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

Shares worth Tk 608.03 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday as against Tk 643.43 crore on Thursday.

Exim Bank 1st Mutual Fund topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Agrani Insurance, National Tea Company, Summit Alliance Port, Ibn Sina, GQ Ball Pen, Eastern Insurance, AIBL 1st Islamic Mutual Fund, Apex Foods and Quasem Drycells.

The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were United Power Generation & Distribution Company, IT Consultants Limited, Emerald Oil Industries, Khulna Power Company and Beximco.

Top five gainers at the DSE were Shurwid Industries, Zaheen Spinning, Peninsula Chittagong, Tung Hai Knitting & Dyeing and Kohinoor Chemicals.

The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI lost 4.38 points to reach 14268.77 at close on Sunday. Of the 238 issues traded, 105 advanced, 98 suffered loss and 35 remained unchanged.

The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 41.85 crore on the day.
