Finally steps has been taken by the authority to punish the culprit who has used bamboo in construction instead of iron rod.
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday arrested two people for allegedly using bamboo sticks instead of iron rods in a construction work in Gaibandha.
An engineer of Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) and a contractor have been arrested for using bamboo sticks instead of iron rods in construction of a school’s toilet in Gaibandha.
The arrestees are: Arif Billah Dakua, sub-assistant engineer of DPHE and Abdul Khaleque, contractor of the construction work.
Quoting ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, UNB reports that with the help of police an team of ACC detained Abdul Khalek, proprietor of M/s Abdul Khalek, and ASM Arif Billah, deputy assistant engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering, from Gaibandha Sadar.
Residents of this locality demand exemplary punishment of the culprits.
