Senior lawyer Khandker Mahbub Hossain has demanded rehearing of the case related to the caretaker government system in which the Supreme Court had declared the system illegal.
The BNP Chairperson's adviser came up with this demand at his office at the Supreme Court on Monday afternoon.
"The apex court should rehear the caretaker case, if rehearing on 168 cases the verdicts of which two former Chief Justices wrote after retirement could be held," said the former president of Supreme Court Bar Association.
The Chief Justice has already ordered to rehear 168 cases verdicts of which were written by two former justices, he said adding that rehearing is scheduled to begin on May 5.
Hossain hoped that the chief justice will take steps regarding the rehearing of the case.
