Eastern University (EU) one of the leading private universities of Bangladesh, celebrated its 13th anniversary on May 7. Keeping ahead the slogan in heart 'A leader in quality educatio' the university started its journey on April 29, 2003.

Chairman of Board of Trustees of EU Mr Abul Khair Chowdhury presided over the session while Speaker of Bangladesh's Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Emeritus Professor of Dhaka University Dr Anisuzzaman presented the keynote paper.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Creator of Bijoy Bangla Software & Entrepreneur Mr. Mustafa Jabbar delivered their speeches on the occasion.

Moreover, many ambassadors of different countries, EU founding members, many renowned personalities, Journalists, faculty members and officials were present at the programme.

There were also slicing of cake and documentary show on the occasion of foundation day.

It is worth mentioning, that the university had produced 6000 graduates over the last twelve years since its foundation.

Many of them are working in the top positions at different organizations of our country.
