A Hindu priest was slaughtered by unidentified miscreants at Mohishadanga area of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila early Tuesday.

The victim was identified as--Ananta Gopal Ganguly, 65.

Superintendent of Police Gopinath Kanjilal said, Ananta Gopal came under attacked by three armed assailants, riding on motorcycle, when he was riding his bicycle at Mohishavagar area to perform puja around 9:30am.

They later slit Ananta's throat.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
