Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed on Monday announced Tk 10 lakh reward for the operatives of militant groups if they give up the path of violence and return to normal life.
Moreover, Tk 5 lakh will also be given to whoever provides specific information about militant activities.
The RAB DG made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Sariakandi upazila of Bogra this afternoon following a drive conducted by the joint forces.
"The country is now going through a transition period. Militants killed people in Gulshan and Sholakia. Sufis and saints who had spread Islam never shed innocent blood. They never captured power," said Benajir Ahmed.
He also regretted that Muslims across the world are being insulted due to a section of disgruntled people who use Islam. "They are enemies of Islam... they are enemies of Muslims."
Earlier the joint forces, led by RAB, conducted a n anti-militant drive in Sariakandi and Dhunot upazilas.
