The 16th meeting of the Academic Council of Bangladesh Islami University (BIU) was held on October 06, 2016 in their own permanent campus at Green Model Town, Mughda, Dhaka of the university under the Chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Anwarullah Chowdhury, the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Principal Kamaluddin Abdullah Zafree, Founder of BIU and Chairman Board of Trustees, Justice Muhammad Abdur Rouf, Prof. Dr. Choudhury Mahmood Hasan, DU, Prof. Dr. M. Yusuff Ali, Former Vice-Chancellor, RU, Prof. Fazle Azim, all Deans of Faculties, Chairman of all Departments, Prof. Md. Yousuf, Registrar, BIU and M. Morshedur Rahaman, Deputy Registrar, BIU were present in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the proceedings of the 15th Academic Council Meeting were confirmed unanimously. The academic result of previous semester 2016 was also approved in the meeting. It was discussed thoroughly in the meeting about some disciplinary and academic issues.
The chairman of the meeting expressed that the university imparts quality higher education to produce professional graduates capable of developing knowledge, self, society and nation. Since its inception in 2005, the university has been working efficiently and presently it has become a modern, dynamic and innovative institution providing high quality education in every branch of knowledge.
