All education institutions will have to receive applications for students online at www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd. Colleges will begin accepting applications for eleventh standard students from May 9. Classes will begin on Jul 1.
Eleventh standard applicants can also apply through a Teletalk mobile SMS.
After paying an online fee of Tk 150, students can apply for a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 colleges, according to their preferences.
The intermediate education board is to issue instructions on how to apply online.
SMS applicants will have to pay a fee of Tk 120 for every college they apply to, up to a maximum of 10 colleges.
Students will be accepted to colleges based on their preferences and their test scores.
Approximately 1.43 million students passed their SSC and equivalent exams this year. Of these students, 104,761 received a GPA of 5.0.
Guidelines for eleventh standard admissions
*Applications will be accepted online and by SMS between May 9 and May 26
*Students applying for a review of their results will have to submit their college admission applications within this time frame
*The applications will be scrutinized and objections will be resolved between May 27 and May 29
* Those whose results are reviewed will have to update their admission applications on May 30 and May 31
*The first stage of student selections will be announced on Jun 5
*Students in the first list will have to confirm selection of their college among those available to them by SMS between Jun 6 and Jun 8
*Migration applications (petition to change college selection) and new applications can be submitted on Jun 9 and Jun 10
*The second round of admissions will be announced on May 13, the third round on May 18
*College selections for students in the second round of admissions must be confirmed on May 14 and May 15 and their migration applications and new applications must be submitted on Jun 16 and Jun 17
*Students in the third round must confirm their college selections by Jun 19.
*Classes will begin Jul 1
Admission fees
Educational institutions in Upazila areas cannot charge more than Tk 1,000 in fees, including session charges. Institutions in district Sadar areas can charge a maximum of Tk 2,000 and institutions in metropolitan areas outside Dhaka can charge a maximum of Tk 3,000.
Colleges under the government’s Monthly Payment Order (MPO) scheme in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area can charge students a maximum of Tk 5,000.
Colleges under a partial MPO scheme in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area can charge Bangla medium students a total of Tk 9,000 and English medium students a total of Tk 10,000 in monthly fee, session charge and development fees in order to pay the leave salary of teachers.
According to the guidelines, no institution can charge over Tk 3,000 in development fees.
The education ministry has told education institutions to waive as much of the fees as possible for poor, meritorious and disabled students.
